Christmas in Montana
Once again we were lucky enough to be able to travel to Montana for the holidays. Wyatt and I flew on the 17th of December, and Marc followed us with Uncle Matt by car on the 23rd. We spent our time visiting and catching up with old friends, and letting Wyatt make new friends.
As always our Christmas was fun and festive. We altered our evening light-seeing on Christmas eve to accommodate Wyatt so that he could join us. So we set forth in the family "sleigh", egg nogs in hand and silly headgear on (see below pic), at about 6pm. However, he was not nearly as impressed with the Christmas lights as we all are, and we had to cut our light-seeing short. Then we gathered for the annual Christmas Eve feast and festivities. Traditional fare with shrimp, tenderloin, twice-baked potatoes, salad, and green beans. YUM. And of course, wine. We toasted the loved ones we've lost this year, and popped our holiday poppers to reveal the trinkets inside.
Christmas day was the usual outrageous present buffet, even though once again we swore we'd cut back. Wyatt was sufficiently spoiled by Santa and the grandparents alike (as were the rest of us). Though, he seemed to like the box best. Just like a kid, right? "Hey mom, thanks for the great box!".jpg)
Lots of snow the week of Christmas, so we took a sled ride on Christmas day with Wyatt. I think we were all more excited about it than he was. Not a single smile cracked the whole time. Mr. Serious. Oh well, we had fun anyway..jpg)
I was able to snap some pictures of the beautiful deer that frequent my parents' yard. There are a family of three, and a small buck with a bum leg and only one antler - obviously the victim of a motor vehicle. I didn't get his photo, but did get one of these two lovely ladies.
We had a great time in Montana, and as always, it went too fast. It's good to be home again, though.
